The World of Millaux

Millaux is introduced as luxurious, artisanal bedding, the first items in a line that will eventually refine an entire interior. These bedclothes are thoughtfully crafted as in the Haute Couture: custom made from rich materials using traditional techniques salvaged from a time when splendor was more readily expressed.

An invented title based on a real place—a small town in the South of France, the name of which summons childhood memories of lush summer holidays—Millaux proposes an antithesis to the pressing banalities of daily life, within the most desired of places: the home. It is inspired by its founders’ reciprocal passions for both travelling and returning.

Jess, an ex-professional tennis player, spent much of her youth in hotels for competitions, and gained an appreciation for hospitality there, turning her focus to the industry after retiring due to injury. Laura has worked over a decade in the luxury fashion world, developing a deft hand at design under the world’s leading creative directors.

Together, they noticed a dearth of playful opulence in most home offerings and decided to apply their intersecting expertise and passion to a new canvas, starting with the bedroom. Here, perhaps above all other parts of the home, every object ought to contribute sumptuousness.

Ideally, when one’s own atmosphere is buttressed with exacting tastes, every instance of mediocrity eliminated, it is a respite from chaos, restorative in its precise personalization, potentially preferable to any getaway as it anticipates its inhabitants’ habits. Each Millaux item is custom created, with sizing, material, colour, and pattern options that make every exquisite piece one of a kind.

Sheets, coverlets, and pillowcases reflect the eclectic natural hues, weights, and textures of their designers’ travels: the French countryside farmhouse, the Swiss mountain chalet, the preserved Italian palazzo, the rustic English cottage, the restored Manhattan loft.

And yet, Millaux proposes a fresh aesthetic: enlarged and abstracted orchids conjure secret gardens insistent on meticulous care; leopard print brings a motif of eclecticism from the wardrobe or wallpaper to the bed.

Small batches of entirely traceable 600+ thread-count Italian-made Egyptian cotton sateen and 100% European flax linen woven in Portugal are produced in traditional ateliers that are sought out for their commitment to sensory detail. The story of each Millaux item’s sustainable origins and manufacture—conscientious of honouring trusted methods and preserving their essential environment—only adds to its extravagance.
